President Donald Trump has publicly called for Microsoft to dismiss Lisa Monaco, its Global Affairs President, citing national security risks. In a Truth Social post, Trump asserted Monaco’s access to sensitive government contracts warranted her removal, claiming her security clearances had been revoked due to unspecified "wrongful acts."

Monaco, a former Obama security aide and Biden-era Deputy Attorney General, joined Microsoft in 2025 to oversee global government relations. The demand follows the DOJ’s indictment of ex-FBI Director James Comey—a longtime TRUMP target—and coincides with Microsoft’s decision to cut cloud services to an Israeli military unit.
